Favorite Books for Halloween - Top Ten Tuesday

This list represents some of my favorite books to read for Halloween that are not typically free.

Amityville Horror by Jay Anson is allegedly based on a true story.

Personally I think It is one of Stephen King's creepier books.

Tim Burton's Nightmare before Christmas is a whimsical mixture of both Halloween and Christmas.

Going to try not to fill this list with Stephen King books but he IS the master of horror after all, and Pet Semetary is an interesting take on zombies and the undead.

If you are having a halloween party you can get some great ideas from Debbie Goard's book, Twisted Cakes!

If you like to make your own Halloween decorations, Steven Brown has some interesting ideas in his book, Glitterville's Handmade Halloween

I remember borrowing several of Ed Emberly's drawing books from the library when I was a child, and my daughter loves them too! He has an amazingly easy step by step process to draw just about anything! If you have a child who loves to draw, I highly recommend giving them the Ed Emberley's Drawing Book of Halloween instead of candy! ;)

Halloween is a collection of stories by some of horror's best writers including Ray Bradbury and H.P. Lovecraft.

If you are interested in the history of halloween and the stories behind the traditions then The Better Days Books Vintage Halloween Reader might be just what you are looking for!

There are even Halloween books for those who only read romance novels! There is a series of novels called Halloween Treats and includes Halloween Hunk by Mercedes Black.
