Spellbinder - Review

Spellbinder
Book Three in series
by L. J. Smith
Genres: Paranormal, Romance, Young adult

In this addition to the series we get a detailed look into the lives of Thea and Blaise - the witch cousins of Ash whom we briefly met in Secret Vampire.

Blaise is a wild temptress likened to the goddess Aphrodite. Her hobbies include toying with human boys, torturing human boys emotionally, and controlling human boys. Oh, she also enjoys making beautiful jewelry which are actually charms and/or spells to aid in her toying, torturing, and controlling of boys.

Thea is the level headed cousin. Her hobbies include healing animals, learning about herbs and potions, and attempting to keep Blaise in line. But Thea loses her cool when she meets her soulmate and does everything she can to keep him safe from Blaise, even if it means breaking a few rules herself.

Even with the whole soulmate theme that runs rampant through the series, I still find it very entertaining and compelling. One good thing about soulmates is that you can skip the whole "He loves me, he loves me not" scenario because with soulmates, they just DO, whether they want to or not.
